A Yorkshire wedding

Weddings are wonderful affairs,  and this one has been long awaited.

Getting ready was an adventure.

The boys were so excited.

Dad was so proud.

The bridesmaids were stunning.

The extended, blended family was thrilled.

and the bride and groom are in love.

and afterwards......Liam was very very sleepy.

  1. What a happy day it looks Janice, and a beautiful spot with the river running by.
It all looks perfectly lovely, and I now see where your cake colour scheme came from.

  3. Wonderful! A great family day but especially for the bride (who looked stunning) and groom.

I particularly liked your phrase about an 'extended, blended family. Don't you wish there were more families who could embrace this concept?

  5. Hi Janice, I can only say BacktoBodrum beat me to the right comment on the first picture - it is priceless - and I'm absolutely with Gaynor on your wonderful phrase - 'extended, blended family'.

You had some good weather too, which I am sure you all deserved. Great photos. Great memories. Axxx

    1. The weather was an added bonus, howling wind and rain the day before and the day after.... Saturday was sunny, bright, and reasonably warm. As you know, our family is a little on the complicated side, but the kids and now the grandchildren certainly benefit from the fact that we all get on so well !...and yes, Liam is completely priceless. Jxxx

  6. Blessings abound, don't they Janice? It looks like you had a wonderful day weather-wise, which I see from your other comments, and what a beautiful "extended, blended family". Families can be complicated, but, all works best when all try to get along, as yours certainly does. I'm so happy for all of you, especially the bride and groom.

    1. It did go really well, the only slight hic up was that the disabled access to the grassy area by the lake was not good, so the bride's grandmother, and the bride's step mother's step mother ( I have mentioned a few times that our family is a little complicated)never made it down the very steep steps, so missed out on being in some of the family photos.

  9. I think most families are at least a little bit complicated. We have a Yorkshire wedding coming up in a few weeks time and I am reliably informed that it will involve a little paganism around the Witch's Stone in Meanwood Park. We can't wait!
