I'm delighted to be back in Caunes, and looking forward to completing a few "projects"....painting a spice rack, organising the granchildren's room, making a bread bag, a few long walks, coming to terms with driving "the bus" ( the 7 seater that Mark insisted we needed in which to ferry all our visitors around )....and of course, some blogging..
We began our trip, being thrilled that the work on one of the new bathrooms has actually started.....and the evidence was....... the bidet on the balcony. Please understand that these pale pink fittings are being removed from our house......not installed. Neither Mark nor I could cope with the retro pink shell theme.....however,we have been advised these items will provide great interest at the next vide greniere ( empty the attic.....car boot equivalent ).
It is actually quite tempting to turn the bidet into a bird bath somewhere in the garden......but the toilet has to go !
They do look rather jolly in the sun today but I agree - they have to go! Axx
ReplyDeletemmmm,it's a hard decision, their appallingness does have some charm !
DeleteYou could definetly make a funky garden piece with them.

I think so too.... any ideas Shardae ?
DeleteBut, but, but....! Janice, you are removing the essential Frenchness of your house if you get rid of the pink shell bathroom suite. :-) You'll be saying you don't want patterned wallpaper on the ceilings and doors next....
ReplyDeleteI promise, the only bits of our house that I am removing.......are the pink bathroom bits. All other delightful oddities will remain. It would be hard to call it a bathroom suite actually, it consists of sink, toilet and bidet.....all in a huge bathroom, no bath, no shower. I'm not sure how Mdme et Monsieur M. who owned the house before us, managed. Anyway, I am still giving serious thought to using part of it to make some kind of bird bath.....because it does seem too special to get rid of completely !
