This isn't really a post, but just a recommendation to any of the people who ever look at my blog, who may be interested in the blog that my husband Mark has just started writing. Mark is fascinated by learning and has been an educationalist with tremendous integrity all his working life. His experience in the education world has been wide and varied, from being a teacher, an advisor, an inspector, a head of an advisory service with an LEA, a deputy director, and LEA director of education, a head of a service brought in to assist LEAs, a director of a central government agency and most recently a consultant.
He is also interested in the way blogging can be used for learning in its widest sense.....and as a way of sharing our learning experiences.
Anyway, if you are interested, have a read.

Mark, learning to relax ! |
Hi Janice,
ReplyDeleteI think Mark's writings on education could be very interesting...
Gaynor x
P.S. I meant to say that I really like the title. Some of us have spent a lifetime on our learning journey and we're not finished yet. ;0))
ReplyDeleteI like the title too...it sums him up really ! x
DeleteI too liked the title...and am looking forward to more posts.
ReplyDeleteI am biased needless to say, but Mark's career has been very interesting, and he has worked with some brilliant ( and not so brilliant ) people along the way. He is one of those people who , you know, learns from every situation, and has incredibly solid and unshakeable values which inform everything he has ever done. You may also recall that Annie called him , practically a saint, in recent comments. I have always referred to him as such, especially in the last year ! Jx
DeleteI can remember very clearly when Mark came into Salendine Nook High School and set out lots of different learning strategies for us to experiment with.I will enjoy reading his blog.
ReplyDeleteMark's career has been so varied, and I think as he is such a reflective person, his thoughts should make interesting reading......to people who aren't as biased as me , as well as to me !
DeleteThank you for the kind comments that you left on my blog, Janice. I realised that I couldn't thank you via email as you are a 'no reply blogger...so this is the next best thing. After i leave hospital, I think that I will enjoy the enforced rest from housework! lol Hopefully I will get lots of knitting and stitching done in between all those naps.
ReplyDeleteThose naps will be important, and sometimes it is important to have "enforced" rest from housework.....so enjoy it while it lasts. I'll be thinking about you tomorrow. Jx
DeleteJanice and Annie, I walked with you every step of the way in this telling of your visit - and I love your teapots, all of them. Off I go, for a cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteThanks Penny. We've had a great time, and a cup of tea is always a good idea.
DeleteI love your reason for blogging Janice (as seen on Mark's blog) ! I think you've hit the nail on the head - it's a very good substitute for writing a book, and often the results are more entertaining and full of insight than many books.
ReplyDeleteWe're all authors now!
It's one of the things I have loved about blogging. I feel "publishing" something, knowing that others will read it, is enjoyable....and so much the better for the dialogue that it involves. Yes, we are all authors.
