Experimenting with John Denver memories.

Bags are packed, ready to go......leaving on a jet plane......don't know when I'll be back again ( not true........we will be back on 20 th Feb)

I decided to try out a quick post from my I Pad, to see if I could master the required technological skills....and to try out my new camera/IPad connector kit. So far, I have failed to be able to import photos saved on the I pad, unless they have first been saved to Picasa.....but I'm working on it.

As an aside,  many years ago, ( 43 years ago to be precise) I saw John Denver on stage at Wembley. He was the support act for "The Moody Blues". He sang "Leaving on a Jet Plane" then, he also juggled .....very strange. The tickets for the concert were 50p......... And I remember that they had 10/- in brackets, after the 50p as the UK had just " gone decimal".

  1. I love your iPad post - has a different style and it has made me chuckle. Have a wonderful time - it seems a long time til 20th February but no doubt it will fly by. I remember the song well - and the Moody Blues, gosh, 'Nights in White Satin' - was one of 'my' songs....! Axxx

  2. I have failed completely to be able to link newly taken photos with blogger's capability to import from albums saved on the I pad......so despite acquiring a brilliant thingy that will import photos from my camera to my I pad.....I can't get them onto a blog.......aggggghhhh. Never mind, I will just have to use the phone photos while I'm away. Lots of love Jxxxxx

  3. A good first try, Janice and maybe by the end of your trip you'll have managed to solve the riddle of how to get your own pictures from your iPad into Blogger. Bon voyage. :-)

  4. Glad that you've arrived safely and are experimenting with the blogger app.

I used to love John Denver. We saw him a few times in the mid 80's at the NEC. I think before he was killed in an air crash he struggled with life and his falls from grace. He did write and perform some lovely songs. X

    1. We're not there yet Gaynor... I have been experimenting before departure ! I think I've got it cracked.....photos can be put on the Ipad from my camera thanks to a miraculous card reader, and with the blogger app, it seems easy enough to post blogs on the I pad.......John Denver was a strange man.... We were all waiting for him to get off thestage, and let the Moody Blues on, and he just went on and on... and then said
" I know what you're all thinking..." We thought, at last, he's going to finish.... but he said " You're thinking, he can sing, he can write songs.....but can he juggle ? " and thats what he proceeded to do for about another 10 minutes.
I dont deny that he sang some great songs, and he was clearly a talented writer....but 43 years ago, we wanted the Moody Blues ! Jx

  5. Sorry! I really must do more than skim read. As soon as I posted I realised my error. I think John Denver was complex and quite self centred, if the books about him are to believed..

  6. I can't believe that you are old enough to have been to a Moody Blues performance! I think I first saw them on Ready, Steady, Go!
    Surely you can't remember THAT!

  7. I tried to use my husband's iPad to write a blog and failed. I use a Samsung S while I'm away but it's small and fiddly so I'll be interested to see how you get on with the iPad.
